Our Day At The Beach

We went to the beach before Christmas (Dec 22nd) but I am only getting the pics on now. Its so nice to walk along the sand and watch the waves, we let Ethan go in the water a litle bit but not far who knows what in the water up here it makes me nervous. I am very eager to go to the goldcoast so I can feel better about him going into the water, but with all the recent shark attacks who knows I might stick to wave pools! Ethan gets so excited watching the waves come at him and runs straight for the water everytime, he hasn't even tried to eat sand yet which surprised me.

The ocean is so beautiful :)

Boxing Day

For boxing day we decided to go to the waterpark for a family activity as Ethan really loves swimming. Everytime we take him he has so much fun. He has no sense of fear and gets upset when we hold him to stop him from drowning because he wants to go by himself, which obviously he cannot do yet. He starts swimming lessons at the end of January s we are looking forward to that.

We has a beautiful day at the pool, the sun was out and it was warm as usual in the top end. Here are some pictures from our nice family excursion. I wanted to take pictures of him going down the slide by himself on his belly, which he loves but I have to catch him, so cannot do both!

Christmas 2008

Well Christmas 2008 has come and gone and we had a wonderful time. Ethan loves the Christmas Movies, Carols and ripping all the wrapping paper off of his presents. I had so much fun watching Ethan and Scott enjoy their gifts and playing away. I also got some very nice gifts and I am grateful we were able to be so blessed at a time of year where many are more unfortunate than we are.

I do have to admit that Christmas in Australia doesn't feel like Christmas at all, there is such a lack of Christmas spirit in our neighborhood. Only two people other than us put up lights and without the snow it isn't the same. I always hated the cold weather while I lived in Canada but I wish I could have it for 3 days a year over Christmas Eve through Boxing Day! We has people over Christmas eve and I had Christmas Carols playing and they hated it so it only lasted 5 min. I love Christmas Carols and traditional things but I must be alone in that.
We had a beautiful Christmas lunch, with turkey ham and all the trimmings, by far my favorite meal of the year!

Well here are some pictures from Christmas morning!!

This was Ethan at 8:30am after we had to wake him up on Christmas morning. He slept in like a good little boy, it was Scott who w up and eager at 7:30am, haha.

I hope everyone had as Merry of a Christmas as we did!

For New Years Eve we had a very quiet night. I was pretty sick with a cold and we just watched movies and played xbox. We stayed up until midnight and went to bed, so all in all pretty average. I hope many had a more exciting one than we did.

An Update Long Overdue

Well things have been quite hectic lately and I have truly been neglecting this blog. Ethan, Scott and I are doing great. Ethan is growing up so quickly it amazes me as he is 15 months old today, where did the time go? My little man is not going to be little for much longer. Last week he got one of his molars already and he is running around, getting into everything and he is such a happy boy. He is always smiling, which I love he has such an attractive little personality and even when I am tired or grumpy he always makes me smile!

Scott and I are really looking forward to the ultrasound on Thursday to find out what the sex of the new little one is. I can't wait for Ethan to meet his new little brother or sister, he will love the playmate! I have always wanted kids close together since I was an only child for so long and although I had great cousins to play with I would have loved to have had someone to grow up with.

Scott has been away for most of this year and I am so glad he has been home for a few weeks for leave and we can have some normalcy in our lives. We had a wonderful Christmas just the three of us (which I will update with pictures) but I truely cannot wait to get to Canada for a Christmas and introduce the kids and Scott to the family and watch Ethan play in the snow.

Also I wanted to add I am so proud of myself I made it to 14 months with breastfeeding Ethan. I am very proud of that accomplishment! My original goal was 6 months, then 12 months but he stopped himself 3 weeks ago which is great because to wean him was upsetting and he made his own decision without me making him stop :)
