Announcing....

Well if you have 'watched this space' I really commend you as I have been so lazy with it and have not posted in so long! Well as the title says I have an announcement.

I am Pregnant

A picture from our 12 week ultrasound!

So Scott and I are very excited to have a new additon arriving early June 2009. I am so happy to be able to give Ethan a brother/sister and a friend for life! We only tried for one cycle so it was very exciting and surprising news for us! I am currently 12 weeks and 5 days pregnant so already in my 2nd trimester!

Weaning

Well I am going to start weaning Ethan from breastfeeding and onto formula. It makes me so sad to do it, I almost feel like less of a mum (a good one anyways) for doing it. Ethan just isn't as interested during the day because the world is too exciting, there is so much for his little eyes to take in.



I have finally caved and bought his first tin of formula, and I am a little disappointed because he won't need me as much and I hate that. I love the fact that my beautiful little boy depends on me but its time to cut the cord and start to wean, very slowly. I am only going to start him off on one bottle for the first few weeks and slowly phase it out. I will keep his morning and night feed until he is 1 and then go from there.



Hopefully he is good with weaning and it isn't too hard (although I think it will be harder for me to give up than for him)

Ethan, Cheeky as usual....

Well yesterday I gave Ethan a sippy cup of milk thinking he would actually drink it. I went to go and answer the phone came back into the living room and I saw it.....he had dumped all of his milk on the floor and was proceeding to splash in while laughing. Apparently it is quite funny to make a big mess and then look cute and innocent afterwards. So of course I had to grab the camera and in true Auntie Sharron fashion take lots of pictures...you cannot miss a photo opportunity :)

Speaking of photos I am incredible I take about 10 or more everyday I think my hard drive will be full by the time Ethan is 2 years old...lol :) I am hoping to get a better camera for Christmas...someone tell Scott ha ha ha. The way I see it you can never have too many pictures and I love taking pictures of my little man!

Beautiful Pics!

Well I got some professional pictures done by Shanna of Jolie Jones Photography and she did such a wonderful job. I was self-conscious, as usual but she was very patient and took some great shots. These are her favorite of the bunch I will put some more up once I have them ordered. The shots were taken on Friday July 11th. If you read this Shanna, thank you for doing such a great job!!

This picture is my favorite. Since Scott is never home it was so great have some pictures of Ethan with his Daddy!!

Ethan being his usual cute self. He was playing with his Winnie the Pooh from Great-Grandma and Grandpa Neilson and wearing his Tigger Polo from Grandma Neilson. I think this is sucj a cute picture!

A family portrait. It was so great to get them done because we have not had a family picture since Ethan was 4 weeks old and I love the memories photos provide I love watching us grow as a family!

Two Teeth and a Big Smile!

Well Ethan has two teeth and they are out for the world to see! This is just a quick post but here is a pic of his two little teeth...and is double chin...haha!

Ethans New Bike!!

Well I got Ethan his first bike...well Smart Trike to be precise. I picked it up from Target last week! It changes from a bike I can push from behind into a normal tricycle as he grows older! He really really loves that trike, he laughs constantly. He is also so used to Scott being away on his bike phone he says "da-da' over and over again, not only does he get pushed around in style but he can talk to "da-da" while he does it! :) Just goes to show his imagination is begining to take shape already!!

Ethan all smiles while taking his new trike for a test run! Scott says he is looking forward to taking him to the park in his new trike :)

We have a tooth!!!

Ok so the picture doesn't show the tooth but it shows the happiness behind it...lol :)

Well Ethans First tooth cut through on June 22nd, 2008...an important day in history..ok not so much but I have been waiting for what feels like forever for this to happen. I have blamed countless restless nights on his potential teeth, looking for an excuse for his behavior but to no avail. No we finally he got his first tooth and he was not even that bad...go figure. He was in pain two days before it cut through but was a pretty good boy for the rest of it!

This time when I told everyone I thought Ethan was teething I am sure they shrugged it off as "the Mum who cried tooth" (Boy who cried wolf)....but he got one, he really got one this time!!! I will take a picture when the tooth is fully exposed and I can get my little man to take a big grin picture like the one above again!!

His second tooth is nearly cut through now as well.....If I had to guess I would say tomorrow will be the day! So its all happening now! I waited 8 and a bit months for one and now they all come...ha ha!

Spoiled By Mom!

Well My Mom (not MUM - she is a Canadian..they spell it differently) has sent two very LARGE packages from Canada.One box was predominantly for Ethan. He got Spoiled big time. She sent him:

~26 Outfits

~2 Sheet sets

~Toys

~Baby Einsteins Bowl and spoons

~Blankets

~A Olympic Canada Jumper to support Canada in the Olypics in Beijing this year!

My Mom always wants to spoil Ethan, and Mom I really appreciaite your efforts. At this rate I will not have to buy any clothes for Ethan myself, as I have enough in quantity and sizes until he is 2 LOL. I am also very happy because she has excellent taste in baby stuff and it is all very cute and I would pick it for Ethan myself!

The second Box that I received yesterday however was spoiling Scott and I. My Mom sent Scott a couple shirts and a Team Canada Ice Hockey Jersey, oh and a "Canadian Eh!" Stubby cooler. Of ourse since Scott is away he doesn;t know about this stuff yet! My Mom sent me an 80GB Ipod :) I was very very happy with that. I also got heaps of Body Shop Supplies....I will smell nice for the next year (not that I don't usually smell nice..LOL) and candles and OMG Ketchup Chips...if you are not from Canada you will not understand but 4 years without them was rough. One thing my Mom sent was a beautiful crystal ornament that was engraved:

I thought that was beautiful to be honest made my eyes water a little! So yes my Mom spoils us and it makes me feel nice to know she cares and wants to dote on her first Grandson!

Oh and when I picked the parcel up from the xpress company the man who served me was very , might I say over friendly. He started talking to Ethan touching his hands and being playful with him. He was also interested in where I was from (asking way too many questions, about my husband, ect) and offered to take the package to my car.....ummm I don't know what to say. Maybe he was just a very nice person....its sad now-a-days we tend to think people who are being really nice are weird! Unless he is creepy and took note of my address then I am freaked out!!! I wish seeing nice people was ordinary and you didn;t have to wonder!

Our Second Happy Anniversary!

Well today is our wedding anniversary, we have been married for two years now! I am so happy to add another anniversary to our list of what we hope to be a long one, leading up to our Golden Anniversary! It is unfortunate that Scott can not be here to celebrate with me but we will save the celebrating for next week when he gets home, I am really looking forward to having him back! It is surreal that 2 years have gone by since we originally 'tied the knot'. We have so many happy days since then and hope to have many more to come! Since getting married we have created a beautiful home together and added a 'plus one' to our family, our son Ethan James who is now 8 months old! We have discussed more children and who knows, perhaps by our next anniversary we may have added another member (Watch this space) LOL.

I think we will go out for dinner at the restaurant we went on our last anniversary; Pee Wee's On The Point. It is an exceptional restaurant with great food and a beautiful atmosphere, it is right on the beach after all! Get home open a bottle of Champagne, and have a nice evening while Ethan sleeps soundly (hopefully). I have a couple little gifts under my sleeve for Scott, just sentimental things which I think he will like.

Well all there is to do now is wait until my man is home.....I wish I could make time go by faster!

My First Attempt!

Well this is my first blog attempt so hopefully someone will want to hear what I have to say and be happy to hear about myself and my family!!

Today I woke up to a beautiful happy little boy! He is all smiles in the morning which I love it presents a great start for everyday! I got him dressed in a beautiful outfit my Mom send to Ethan from Canada. I received one very big parcel on Wed last week and another one will arrive today. Ethan will definitely be a spoiled little boy! I took some pictures of my little man talking and playing with himself in the mirror...very cute if you ask me!

Well my 2nd Wedding Anniversary is tomorrow, but my husband is away for work so we will have to celebrate a week late which is a little bit of a bummer but we will make up for it!! I will celebrate with Ethan instead! I really cannot wait for the day when Scott has a job that see's him home more than away, it will be wonderful. I end up missing him way to much when he is away!
